The coronavirus pandemic has shut down a great deal of the sports world however, when it comes to the NFL it hasn’t completely stopped the show.

NFL policy prohibits teams from announcing signings and trades before a contract is finalized. So, technically teams aren’t allowed to announce their moves yet.

It does allow teams to pass along media reports and so many teams, including the Redskins have found ways to get creative with announcing their moves.

On Wednesday, the Redskins shared on Twitter that they will be trying something new.

Rather than making official announcements the Redskins have instead tweeted about the reports that have been floating around.

Here are some of the ways the Burgundy and Gold announced their free agent signings.

After two season with the Chiefs Authentic Kendall Fuller Jersey is returning to the Redskins. The cornerback agreed to a four year contract deal worth about $40 million.

It was also reported that the Skins’ have agreed to terms with Wes Schweitzer and they plan to sign on Wednesday.

The former Falcons guard will reportedly get $13.5 million over three years.

After overlapping with Ron Rivera for eight seasons in Carolina, Thomas Davis and Rivera will overlap again. The three-time Pro Bowler is the first major ex-Panthers contributor that Rivera has landed.

As it was expected, according to a report from ESPN, the Redskins have decided to bring back Jon Bostic on a two-year deal worth $6.6 million.

The Skins’ will be the first team to re-sign the veteran linebacker in his six-year career.

Just a day following the Skins’ decision to agree to terms with Authentic Jon Bostic Jersey, they have added Kevin Pierre-Louis, another player that will contribute to the middle of their defense.

To their luck the big news was one hundred percent true.

Pierre-Louis is a 28-year old veteran linebacker who played in 14 games for the Bears in 2019.

According to Ian Rapoport, Pierre-Louis intends to sign with Washington for one year and the deal can be worth up to $3.45 million if he reachers certain playing time incentives.

Reports continued to trickle in.

Former Former and Steelers safety Sean Davis was signed to a one-year deal on Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

Davis, a versatile player can step in for multiple roles whether cornerback or safety. He will return home to the district on a deal reports show of up to $5 million.

The Redskins have reportedly signed running back J.D. McKissic to a two-year deal, however the terms of the contract remain unknown.

After spending the 2019 season with the Detroit Lions, McKissic will join Adrian Peterson, Derrius Guice and Bryce Love.

Linebacker Authentic Nate Orchard Jersey has agreed to return to the Burgundy and Gold on a one-year deal, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Prior to Washington’s Week 13 matchup against Carolina Orchard was signed by the Redskins.

The Washington Redskins reached an agreement to sign ex-Virginia Tech quarterback Logan Thomas, a person with knowledge of the move said Thursday. Thomas, a fourth-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2014, switched positions to tight end two years later and has been a part-time starting tight end in Buffalo and Detroit the last two seasons.

The Redskins are in desperate need of tight ends after Jordan Reed was released and Vernon Davis retired. They did not sign any of the top tight ends on the free agent market like the Atlanta Falcons’ Austin Hooper or Green Bay Packers’ Jimmy Graham. They currently have four tight ends on the roster — Authentic Jeremy Sprinkle Jersey, Matt Henges, Authentic Caleb Wilson Jersey and Authentic Marcus Baugh Jersey — but none are seen as front line starters.

The Redskins also upgraded their offensive line depth by agreeing to terms with veteran tackle Cornelius Lucas, according to multiple people with knowledge of the situation. The deal is reportedly for two years and $5.3 million. Lucas, 28, has mostly played right tackle since entering the league as an undrafted free-agent in 2014.

Thomas, 28, could be an intriguing signing for Washington. At 6-foot-6, 250 pounds, he has the size to be the kind of pass-catching threat Ron Rivera is looking for in an offense that has relied upon tight ends in the past. Though Thomas has only caught 35 passes for 317 yards and two touchdowns in his three seasons as an active tight end, he is still new to the position and showed some glimpses of potential toward the end of last season when injuries kept the Lions other tight ends off the field.

His lone touchdown last year came Nov. 24 at FedEx Field, during Detroit’s 19-16 loss to the Redskins.

In college, Thomas was a dual threat quarterback who threw for 9,003 yards and 52 touchdowns and ran for 1,359 yards and 24 touchdowns as a three-year starter. As a rookie in Arizona, he played in part of one game, throwing an 81-yard touchdown pass on his first NFL throw while replacing an injured Drew Stanton. It was his only professional touchdown pass.

In Lucas, the Redskins added depth to their offensive line. The New Orleans native was the Chicago Bears’ swing tackle last season and played mostly right guard. He held his own when afforded the chance, like during a Week 3 start at right tackle in which Lucas had no penalties in his 480 snaps last season, according to Sports Info Solutions. After going undrafted, Lucas spent two years with the Detroit Lions, one with the Los Angeles Rams, days with the New Orleans Saints and one season with the Bears.

Lucas and Thomas fit a pattern of signings Rivera has agreed to make so far in free agency, adding solid, experienced, low-cost players, many of whom can play multiple positions — a group that includes cornerback Authentic Kendall Fuller Jersey, linebackers Authentic Jon Bostic Jersey, Authentic Kevin Pierre-Louis Jersey and Authentic Thomas Davis Jersey, safety Authentic Sean Davis Jersey and guard Authentic Wes Schweitzer Jersey.

Here’s a look at the Super Bowl prospects of the Washington Redskins, who finished the season 7-9. The tiers consist of: Realistic Super Bowl expectations; Should contend, but there are question marks; Middle of the pack; Lots of work to do; and Nowhere close.

Middle of the pack: The Redskins have been in this category for a couple years now. They at least settled their quarterback situation, trading for Alex Smith and giving him a four-year extension (the move becomes official on March 14). Whether or not he’s an upgrade over Kirk Cousins can be debated, but they’re not far apart in terms of play level. But, regardless of who they have at quarterback, the Redskins need to give them more help.

One question will be how they handle their first full offseason with a realigned front office. They survived last offseason after firing general manager Scot McCloughan, but a lot of work already had been done. They’re more settled, but the Redskins will have some key people in roles they did not occupy a year ago. It helps that coach Jay Gruden is considered a good talent evaluator.

But the Redskins will need more pieces on offense. They were hit hard by injuries, with key players such as tight end Jordan Reed, running back Chris Thompson and left tackle Trent Williams missing a combined 22 games. When healthy, their line is good, though they have a hole at left guard.

Smith, coming off his best season, played like an MVP candidate for Kansas City at times in 2017. However, he also had receiver Tyreek Hill and running back Kareem Hunt — two game-breakers with speed. The Redskins would like to add a speedy receiver and a dynamic full-time running back. If that happens, they could have an explosive offense, aided by the development of receiver Josh Doctson. They have the potential for a top-10 offense — Kansas City was top 10 in points scored in three of Smith’s five seasons.

But to really escape the middle, Washington needs to — finally — fix its defense. Early last season it appeared the Redskins might have done so, but injuries hit and they were thin at most positions. Washington has ranked 17th or worse in points allowed for nine straight seasons. And the Redskins have ranked 16th or worse in yards per game for six consecutive years. As the Eagles showed, if you don’t have Tom Brady at quarterback, you’d better have a complete team.
